Michael Gordon Bennett

Michael Gordon Bennett is a veteran storyteller and media professional whose 30-year career spans acting, writing, producing, and directing. His work has appeared on major networks including NBC, BET, and the Travel Channel—where he made history directing the network’s first-ever live broadcast.

A third-generation U.S. military veteran, Bennett’s latest film project, Barrage, is deeply personal. The screenplay—based on the true story of the 320th Barrage Balloon Battalion, the only all-Black unit to land on D-Day—was inspired by a distant relative who served in that unit. It has earned international acclaim as an official selection at the Big Apple Film Festival, Los Angeles International Film Festival, and Austin Film Festival.

Bennett is the co-architect of the Structured Capital Solution, a next-generation approach to financing independent film and streaming content. This model uses strategies proven in other industries to protect investor equity while funding prestige, socially impactful stories designed for streamer distribution. He is also the founder of the T.R.U.T.H. Initiative, a national campaign honoring the erased legacies of Black, Indigenous, Latino, Asian American, women, and LGBTQ+ veterans through education, storytelling, and historical preservation.

He holds a BA in Journalism from California State University, Northridge, and a Feature Film Writing Certificate from UCLA. He is also the author of two acclaimed books—one currently being adapted for the screen—and has contributed articles to outlets including The Huffington Post.

Across every medium, Bennett is guided by a singular mission: to amplify unheard voices, safeguard creative equity, and deliver powerful stories that resonate across cultures and generations.
